Especially the odor intensity can be assessed technically by the OMU – whether within vehicle development, initial sampling, or continous control of production processes as well as of incoming and outgoing goods.
Features
The OMU as a technical system assesses the odor of your samples or components objectively and reproducibly. Influencing factors such as the form on the day, fatigue and habituation effects as well as subjective perception will not arise.
A fixed parameterization of the device provides for a defined and reproducible testing procedure. Operating instructions define operation and preparation of samples clearly and plainly. The OMU is completed by automatic self-tests so that you can implement a test process that can be audited.
While so far, up to five panel participants were needed for an odor assessment, the operation of the odor assessment by the OMU can be controlled by a single person within the same time.
Besides the clearly easier personnel planning, the OMU offers substantial cost advantages compared to humansensory assessment when it comes to periodical tests. Thus, from an economic point of view, odor assessment in serious-production after all becomes possible.
An initial training of the OMU to your application ensures the reference to the human odor assessment. If needed, this training can be extended or further applications can be trained.
Together with a variety of accessories, among others materials for the fluidic connection and test chambers, a compact test setup is at your disposal that you can flexibly integrate into your existing test environment.
